Speed up load time, especially when used as Outlook previewer

Hi,


Is there any way (config tweaks?) to speed up PDF Forge’s load times? I have a few modules installed, and it takes “forever” to load, compared to other PDF readers/editors I have used. It’s especially slow when being used as a PDF previewer in MSFT Outlook.

If not, suggestion: Load once and cache in memory.

which version are you using?
It might help to clear the document history.

You can clear the history at help->options->general settings.

But you are right, if it has been doing this from the very start, it will probably not be the cause.

How do I clear the document history?

I doubt that’s the problem, since this has been happening since I initially installed it, and there was no document history then.

Seems to loading plugins and modules and whatnot. Far slower than the free Adobe Reader, which opens the PDF almost instantly.

Which takes me back to my original question: Why does PDFforge take so long to load? I’m using a fast Ultrabook with lots of RAM and an SSD drive.

Also, I am receiving this error message on a different computer – a new high-end ASUS. I think this is more evidence that the plugin and the app have a performance problem.

I will need to ask the developers for possible reasons, but with an SSD and lots of ram it makes it even more stange; for me it loads very fast when loaded from SSD. I will pass the info and suggestion along.
