I have Adobe Reader and Pro installed on Citrix servers. Although Reader is set to be default viewer, for some reason PDFCreator opens the ouput file with Adobe Pro when users select to Open with default program after printing. With this setting locked down I could then force the file to open with Reader with Action after saving Settings.
Or, is there a way to force the StardardProgram to be acrord32?
Thanks
Sorry I don't have an answer, but I have a similar problem.
I am running PDFCreator 1.0.1 on WinXP Pro SP3. I have Acrobat 5.0 and Acrobat Reader 9.3. This is not the server version.
Acrobat Reader is my default PDF viewer in Windows.
But when I print using PDFCreator with "After saving open the document with the default program," it opens in Acrobat 5.0. This is annoying, but not a fatal flaw.
Is there a way around this?
I found a workaround, but I'm not sure why it works. It certainly looks like something odd with the Acrobat registry keys.
You can change the program used to open the file type that PDFCreator is using--not via Windows but via DOS/Command Prompt:
ftype acroexch.document.7="C:\\Program Files\\Adobe\\Reader 9.0\\Reader\\AcroRd32.exe" "%1"
(Obviously, you have to use the correct path for your installation.)
