Upgrading to 1.2.0 looses all profile settings and virtual printers

I have/had an installation of PDFCreator on a Terminal Server that has 5 different profiles and 5 virtual printers.  I've just upgraded to the latest version 1.2.0 and the install routine deleted all the virtual printers and reset every profile back to the default.  Luckily I had saved the profiles to INI files before doing the upgrade and was able to import them, otherwise I'd have a lot of work to do to recreate them.  PDFCreator is a great utility and congrats to the team behind it, but you should probably look at some way of retaining the configuration through the upgrade process.

I am experiencing similar issues.  I installed 1.2.0 in server mode on a fresh install of Server 2003 R2 x86.  I am seeing my profiles create the necessary registry keys, but I can't seem to get the UI to reflect the changes that I made to the profile (specifically the Auto Save details).  I've tried to manually change the values in the registry for the Auto Save locations and set the UseAutosave value to 1.  The UI isn't picking up these changes, so all my profiles load / function under the default settings.  I've tried printing to these printers, but they are going based off the settings seen in the UI and not in the registry.

Hi Frank

Just wondering if there was any update on this issue as I am having problems with PDFCreator not referening autosave details that are saved in the registry

Thanks

Clive

Same here with Windows XP SP3 and PDFCreator 1.2.0.

Any news on this?

Thanks a lot guys!!!

Hi Frank,

Just wondering if you had any feedback on this issue as I am also having problems where PDFCreator is not referencing autosave details in the registry?

Further to this, it looks as if 1.2.0 is more broken than I first thought, as I couldn't get it to work reliably at all on my TS.  I've reverted back to version 1.1.0 which works properly with exactly the same setup.

FYI, here are the faults I found with 1.2.0
 - Error during installation trying to overwrite C\\Windows\\System32\\pdfcmnnt.dll.
 - Error printing from anything except the default profile.
 - Didn't retain Autosave and Action settings between saves, although the information was being written into the registry correctly!
 - Enable logging puts a tick against Options in pop-up menu of tray icon (1.1.0 also has this bug).
 - Deleted all virtual printers and profile settings during installation. (1.1.0 deleted the printers also, but retained the profile settings)

I will check this asap.
