I installed 2_1_2 on W8 laptop with no problem. Tried to install on W7
desktop and it would not finish. The window that usually pops up to ask
me if I want to install another program had an error messaage that the
site was not available. I tried reinstalling 2_1_1 and got the same
message. Rebooting did not help. I have never had this problem before.
Hello,
please start the setup and at the point the offer-screen appears, please end the process installmanager.exe via your Task Manager.
The setup should then finish normally.
best regards,
Cay
I never got any request to install any other software; instead, Norton AV reported:
Category: Scan Results
Category: Resolved Security Risks
Date & Time,Risk,Activity,Status,Recommended Action
7/5/2015 8:23:35 PM,High,installmanager.exe (Trojan.Gen.2) detected by Auto-Protect,Blocked,Resolved - No Action Required
There is no process to kill, but the install of PDFForge hung.
I guess my only solution is to install the paid form?
Brian
Hi,
you could upload the setup to virustotal.com to see that most AV applications do consider it to be safe (or install it into a virtual machine to check after installing). If there is a cstub.exe process in your taskmanager, killing it should also allow the setup to continue.
Of course we’d be happy if you installed the paid version, but we can also assure the safety of the free version; sometimes the problem is also resolved by updated virus definitions, or by lowering the general heuristic detection level.
best regards,
