Windows installer

Hello

Each time I'm launching PdfCreator the Windows Installer is running.

I've try, to uninstall, same problem.

I've install the Microsoft Install Clean UP, but I don’t see the PdfCreator item on the list "Installed Products"

PDFCeator is not using Microsoft Installer and thus is not the "bad guy" showing the Installer Window. Try to find out which application does so, maybe it tells its name in the title or something.

kind regards,

Philip

I have just installed PDFCreator and I am having the same exact issues. This didn't occur untill I installed it.

I use PDFCreator for AutoCAD publish feature as their DWG to PDF.pc3 plotter publishes with errors.  Creator is the only thing that is working at the moment but this Windows Installer is quite annoying.

If anyone has a fix please post a reply.

Edit:  Above poster is correct, In my case Microsoft Office was the culprit.  Removed with Windows Installer Clean Up, and can now publish just fine.

First of all we need to know which application ist causing the problem1!

Start regedit and open

HKLM\\Software\\policies\\Microsoft\\Windows\\Installer

change the value of Logging to voicewarmup

Now, each an every time the windows installer starts for whatever reason a log file will be created in %temp%

next check the event log.

There should be an entry in the applications section.

We need a copy of this and the log files.

from my experience most reasons for this problem are deleted sorce folders.- This means product XYZ has beeb installed fron source folder X:\\package.

But package has been removed

Hello, i had the same problem on vista sp2 and every istance of pdfcreator 0.9.8 i launched, office 2003 windows installer start.

The very problem is i have to wait 12 windows installer cycle (gathering info, config etc.) since i can use pdf creator

I hope this could help you.
