According to the author of SumatraPDF, the PDF produced by PDFCreator is “partially malformed”. (The number 32K is approximate only, since Windows has certain forced substitutions of characters in fonts.)
Example of a broken document: coverage-mono.txt - Notepad DejaVu Sans Mono Unifont
To check, select text near the end (in Adobe Reader), and copy to clipboard. The result contains bogus characters like U+10f15d.
How to re-create the file:
- download This 7z ARCHIVE.
- Top directory contains a font; install it.
- Subdirectory contains file coverage-all-BOM.txt; open it in Notepad.
- In Notepad, select the installed above font Unifont Smooth.
- Print to pdfCreator.
(The same happens if one converts to UTF-16, and prints from WordPad.) The file above was created with an old β-version of PDFCreator, but I rechecked it with the version of today too. (Win 7 SP1 here.)
